<span style="color: #222222;">The Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority in association with Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Center has brought out the State heatwave Action plan 2022 for an effective management and mitigation of heatwave conditions in the state.<br />''<br />''Along with this a state Lightning Action plan for 2022-23 is also brought out to set out vulnerability, impacts, preparedness and mitigation measures roles and responsibilities of various departments.<br />''<br />''AIR correspondent reports, Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Center (KSNDMC) has been disseminating real-time temperature and humidity levels to all districts and stakeholders through SMS, Whatsapp, emails and electronic media.<br />''<br />''The heatwave situation is being reviewed in the Weather Watch Committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner and necessary instructions are given to Deputy Commissioner on the prevailing and forecasted temperature.<br />''<br />''The District administration has been asked to ensure Hospitals and other strategic locations are stocked up ORS and appropriate medicines to effectively respond to any heatwave-related illness. Similarly the State has established a dedicated monitoring network for real-time monitoring, Alert recognition and Early warning mechanism for Lightning & Thunderstorms.<br />''<br />''Mechanisms to issue early warnings to all the stakeholders in real-time, such as area-specific SMS alerts, VAUNAMTRA call Centre, email alerts, social media platforms and based on the real-time lightning data, a Mobile App "SIDILU" for disseminating the location-specific information about Lightning Strikes in the State.<br />''<br />'' A dedicated public addressing system called Disaster Early Warning System (DEWS) has been established for effective dissemination to the most vulnerable 105-gram panchayats in the first phase in the State.</span><br />
