Karnataka reports 7,385 new COVID-19 cases; recovery rate at 66.30 pct

Karnataka reported 7,385 new cases of COVID-19 during the last 24 hours, taking the total number of infections in the state to two lakh 56 thousand Nine hundred and seventy five. At the same time, 6231 people were discharged from the hospitals after recovering from the disease.<br />''<br />''With this, the total number of recoveries in the state has risen to one lakh seventy thousand three hundred and eighty one.  102 people succumbed to the disease during this period taking the total fatality in the state to 4,429. The recovery rate in the state stands at 66.30 percent while the mortality rate is at 1.72 percent.<br />''<br />''AIR Correspondent reports, Karnataka Medical Education Minister Dr.K.Sudhakar has said that the stress quotient faced by the front line warriors and their emergent need for leave and other incentives  will be considered by the government very  soon.  He was reacting after a doctor  attending to Covid patients in Nanjungud Dr. S R Nagendra had committed suicide yesterday.<br />''<br />''He has announced a compensation of 30 lakh rupees to the family of the deceased and has assured all other possible help needed to the family of the doctor. He appealed to the Doctors fraternity to bring all their grievances to higher ups for early resolution.<br />''<br />''The Minister also said an enquiry will be constituted to look into the circumstances that forced Dr. S R Nagendra to take the extreme step.<br />
