<span style="color: #222222;">The Supreme Court today directed that the 15 rebel MLAs of the Congress – JD(S) coalition in Karnataka should not be compelled to take part in the proceedings of the State Assembly. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Assembly is slated to decide on the confidence motion moved by the HD Kumaraswamy-led government in the state tomorrow. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">A bench, headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, also said, Assembly Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar was free to decide on the resignations of the rebel legislators within the time-frame decided by him. The court said, the Speaker's decision be put before it.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Reacting to the judgment, Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar said, he will take a decision that in no way will go contrary to the Constitution, the court and the Lokpal.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' BJP has welcomed the verdict. Party General Secretary Murlidhar Rao said in a tweet that the apex court while accepting Assembly Speaker as the authority to decide resignation issue, has clearly directed him to do it fast without delay. Mr Rao said there is no question of disqualification now.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' BJP's State President BS Yeddyurappa said, it is a victory of constitution and democracy and a moral victory for the rebel MLAs.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' The Congress in Karnataka has termed the Supreme Court order on the political crisis in the state as bad judgment, which seemed to protect the defectors and encourage horse-trading. In a series of tweets, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Dinesh Gundu Rao termed it an extraordinary order.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Ahead of tomorrow's floor test at Karnataka assembly, security arrangements has been tightened outside Mumbai's Renaissance Hotel where as many as 15 rebel MLAs of Congress and JD(U) are staying since last week. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Since Monday mediapersons were restricted to approach these MLAs. Meanwhile in a video message issued for media,  MLAs reiterated their stand stating that they are together and there is no question of taking back their resignations at any cost.The rebel MLAs said they welcome Supreme courts decision on their plea.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' According to sources, the security outside Mumbai's posh resort, Hotel Renaissance, has been tightened as the Apex Court has granted freedom to these  MLAs to skip the Assembly proceedings. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Personnel of the Mumbai Police, too, have been deployed inside the hotel  at various floors. Several officers have been deployed in civil clothes.  Sources also informed that movements of the MLAs has also been restricted for the first time during their stay in Mumbai. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, amidst report that few MLAs might leave for Banglore tonight to attend tomorrow's session , police personnel are also deployed at Mumbai Airport.</span>
