Karnataka Opp moves adjournment motion to discuss drought situation

In Karnataka legislative Assembly, the leader of the Opposition and Congress leader Siddaramaiah moved an adjournment motion on Monday to discuss the drought situation in the state.He appealed to the Speaker to allow the motion as 100 taluks are reeling under drought with severe shortage of drinking water and fodder.Chief Minister Sadanand Gowda and Law Minister Suresh Kumar however asked the speaker to allow discussion on the subject, but not as an adjournment motion.The Speaker ruled in their favour and allowed the discussion under rule 69 of legislature. The Assembly was thereafter adjourned till 3.30 pm on Monday.The House also paid rich tributes to eminent departed members of the society when it began on Monday.
