Karnataka Lokayukth submits resignation

Karnataka Lokayukt Justice Shivraj V Patil today submitted his resignation to the State Governor H R Bharadwaj in Bangalore . Facing allegations of owning plots in violation of Housing Society by-laws, Justice Patil defended the asset declaration and charged that malicious campaign against him were pre-planned. Speaking to the media persons after his resignation, Justice Patil said the plot bought by him was not from a housing society and hence there is no violation while acquiring another plot by his wife later. He had assumed office of Lokayukth in the first week of last month.
