Karnataka: Lokayukta unearths unaccounted property from seven govt. officers

The Karnataka Lokayukta has unearthed unaccounted property worth more than 7.89 crore rupees from seven Government officials in the state. Briefing the media persons in Bangalore, Lokayukta, Santhosh Hegde said the officials raided have amassed property disproportionate to their known sources of income and the value of properties unearthed is much above their estimation. The seven officials working in Bangalore, Ankola, Hospet, Belgaum and Bidar were raided today morning. The MD of Karnataka Scheduled Tribe Development Corporation whose known sources of income is 21 lakh has acquired acres of land, houses, plots and other valuables worth more than two crores. A police Constable in Belgaum District earned 11 lakh from his service but owns property worth more than 33 lakh.<br/>
