Karnataka Lokayukta rejects anticipatory bail application of Kumaraswamy and his wife

In Karnataka, Lokayukta Judge N K Sudhindhra Rao has rejected anticipatory bail application of former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and his wife Anitha Kumaraswamy in the Lokayukta court today. Janata Dal (Secular) leader and Member of Parliament Kumaraswamy is indicted in the Lokayukta report on illegal mining. He is also facing a private complaint in the Lokayukta court, filed by advocate Vinod Kumar. The complainant has alleged that Kumaraswamy had recommended renewal of mining license to Jantkal Mining Company violating norms. He has also alleged in the complaint that during his Chief Ministership, Kumaraswamy allotted 70 acres to Vishwabharathi Housing Co-operative Society in Bangalore , flouting norms, while the society allotted 100ft x 150 ft site to Anita Kumaraswamy in return. In another case in Karnataka High Court, Justice Keshavanarayan rejected Kumaraswamy’s application seeking stay on proceedings by Lokayuktha court.
