In Karnataka, the lockdown is being imposed in Bengaluru without affecting the livelihoods of people. Speaking to media the Additional Police Commissioner in Bengaluru, Hemant Nimbalkar said that exemptions given to 26 sectors during the lockdown are implemented in a regulated manner. On the arrangements made during the lockdown he informed that 900 roads have been completely closed. <br />'' &nbsp;<br />'' He said, 241 check posts are being manned by the police in the city. Around 13000 Civil police wardens are helping the police to impose the lockdown. He added that this will not hamper livelihood of people as essential commodities are being allowed till noon.&nbsp;<br />'' <br />'' When asked about 700 police personnel in the city contracting the virus and eight deaths in the department due to the pandemic, Nimbalkar said all police personnel and their families are regularly tested and given ambulance and treatment facilities as and when needed. The lockdown will remain in place in Bengaluru till July 22nd. <br />'' &nbsp;<br />
