The JD(S) Floor leader in the Karnataka Legislative Council, Nannaiah has charged that the Government’s effort to table the Alliance Private University Bill without referring it to the Business Advisory Committee is a biggest fraud committed on the Legislature.

Speaking to the media persons after the Council adjourned for the day, Nannaiah said never in the history of state Legislature did any Government attempt to bring in a bill without the prior notice of the Opposition members.

He stressed that the Government’s urgency to get the Bill passed when the House was not in order, shows that biggest money dealing has taken place.

Nannaiah further stressed that the Chairman of the Council owes an explanation to the House on allowing the Bill to be passed when it was to be referred to the Joint House Committee as agreed upon in the previous session. He informed that the issue amounts to breach of privilege and will be taken up with the Governor.
