Karnataka Legislative Assembly adjourned twice today

The Karnataka Legislative Assembly adjourned twice today over Opposition parties’ demand for a CBI probe into donations paid to Prerana Educational and Social Trust. Both the Sons of Chief Minister are trustees of the Trust which runs educational institutions in the State. The Opposition parties accused that 27 crore rupees donation was paid to the Trust to receive favours from the Government. They allege that Yeddyurappa relaxed norms and overlooked violations of Jindal Steel Company and Adarsh Developers in lieu of donations to the Trust. The Opposition held protests in the well of the House seeking CBI probe and resignation of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa. When the protest did not end after repeated appeal from the Speaker, the House was adjourned. Both Congress and JD(S) members had tried to move adjournment motion yesterday over the issue.
