Karnataka issues order to use K-LAD fund to fight against COVID-19

<span style="color: #222222;">In Karnataka, the State Government has taken a few measures for providing resources to the health sector in order to ease the fund crunch. It has allowed the Members of Legislative Assembly to use Karnataka Legislators Area Development Fund, K-LAD, for augmenting infrastructure to combat the pandemic. An order issued in this regard allows 25 per cent of two crore rupee fund utilised towards COVID care in each of the Assembly segment. In another decision, the Dakshin Kannada District Administration is allowed to utilise funds available under the District Mineral Foundation for the purchase of oxygen tankers, medicines and other emergency medical needs. In another decision taken by the Government, works under MNREGA is allowed subject to the condition that not more than 40 workers are deployed in a location by following COVID Appropriate Behaviour. </span><br />
