Karnataka: Initiate criminal action against those indicted in illegal mining report: Congress

The Congress party in Karnataka has urged Chief Minister Sadanand Gowda to initiate criminal action against those indicted in the illegal mining report. Speaking to the media persons in Bangalore today, State Party President G Parameshwar said former Chief Minister Yeddyurappa, four cabinet ministers and 787 officials are named in the report. He urged the Government and Lokayuktha to initiate further action against them. He observed that boycott of swearing in ceremony of new Chief Minister yesterday by the Jagadish Shetter faction shows that BJP is a divided house in the state. Reacting to Yeddyurappa’s remarks that he will return after six months, Parameshwar asked Chief Minister Sadanand Gowda to clarify to people whether he is a stop gap Chief Minister till Yeddyurappa returns to occupy Chief Minister’s seat once again.
