<span style="color: #222222;">The Karnataka Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K Sudhakar and officials briefed Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on a proposal to upgrade the Primary Health Centres in the State. A presentation on the proposal was made in Bengaluru today. The proposal is to upgrade 2,380 Primary Health Centres by increasing the bed capacity from six to 12 and wherever possible to 20. It is also planned to increase the doctor's strength from one to four including a lady doctor and a Ayush practitioner. </span><br />''<br />''Some of the Primary Health Centres will be upgraded to Wellness Centres. It is also planned to offer free blood test and x-ray facilities at the primary level. To encourage Doctors to take up the rural assignments, residential quarters will be built in the hospital premises.
