Karnataka Health and Medical Education minister Dr. K Sudhakar met the Director of Indian Institute of Science Prof. Govindan Rangarajan in Bengaluru yesterday to seek their support in battling Covid 19 pandemic. The research Institute has designed and developed an oxygen concentrator that is being tested for clinical validation at Bangalore Medical College.<br />'' <br />''Once approved by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation, it can be manufactured indigenously. The minister has assured the institute of all assistance in getting the necessary approvals. He sought the help of IISc in developing an audit mechanism for the utilisation of oxygen and minimise wastage. AIR correspondent reports that state Government has decided to procure five lakh medical isolation kits for those Covid patients in home isolation. Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C N Ashwathnarayana has said that these kits will be supplied to the doorsteps of the infected person's home within one hour of him or her getting Covid positive report.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The medical kits will have antibiotics, anti virals, vitamin tablets prescribed for anti inflammation. The Government has decided to appoint Prof Gagan Deep Kang of Vellore Christian Medical College as adviser on vaccination strategy. In another decision, the Chairman of Narayana Health Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty will be appointed the Chairman of a Task Force to foresee and prepare for the Covid third wave. </span><br />
