Karnataka Health and Medical Education minister Dr. K Sudhakar held a meeting of the Technical Advisory Committee in Bengaluru yesterday in the wake of emergence of a new variant of corona virus in the UK.<br />'' <br />''Speaking to media persons later, the Health minister said that the UK virus may be more contagious but not more virulent. He added that as a precautionary measure, the state has mandated RT-PCR test and quarantine for travellers from UK, Denmark and Netherlands. He informed that travellers who arrived in the state from these three countries in the last 14 days will be traced and subjected to the tests.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;"> Yesterday, 587 travellers had arrived in the state from these three countries and 136 among them had not submitted negative test reports. They will be traced within 24 hours. The minister said that there will be no lockdown now.</span><br />
