The Karnataka High Court has set aside the stay granted by a single judge who had stayed the proceedings initiated against former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa by the Lokayukta court on two complaints.Delivering the judgement, Vacation bench comprising Justice N Kumar and Justice Arvind Kumar observed that the High Court did not have jurisdiction to interfere in the matter of other court under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act. The complaints were filed by an advocate Sirajin Basha alleging irregularities in denotification of government land for pecuniary gains.Earlier, Justice B S Patil granted an interim stay on two petitions filed by Yeddyurappa. Yeddyurappa had sought quashing of the lower court order taking cognisance of the complaints filed against him and 14 others and adjourned the hearing to October 14. Basha had challenged the grant of stay and sought that it to be vacated.
