Karnataka HC rules tomorrow's floor test subject to its verdict in case of disqualification of 16 MLAs

The Karnataka High Court has ruled that tomorrows floor test in the Assembly will be subjected to its verdict on the case of disqualification of 16 MLAs. A Division Bench headed by Chief Justice of Karnataka J S Khehar rejected the plea of the 5 Independent MLAs to allow them to vote tomorrow.Alternately they had asked for keeping their vote in a sealed envelope. The court also did not stay the confidence vote but made it clear that the outcome of floor test will depend upon the court verdict.The Court order has not specified as to how these votes will be cast or counted in case the disqualification of MLAs by the Speaker is expunged by the court later. After the interim order the court was adjourned till Monday.Meanwhile, an independent MLA Vardhur Prakash has joined BJP. He told reporters in the presence of Tourism Minister Janardhana Reddy that he doing this in the interest of the state and the stability of the Government for the next two and a half year.
