Karnataka: Haveri district administration organises Vatsalya health check up camp for children below 16 years of age

In Karnataka, Haveri district administration has organised Vatsalya health check up camp for children below 16 years of age. The camp aims to identify children vulnerable to the third wave of Covid pandemic if it makes an appearance in future. The district has already surveyed 90 percent of 4.7 lakh children in the district.<br />'' <br />'' The Vatsalya health check up camp for Children below the age of 16 was started on June 25th. 1918 anganwadi and 1878 Government and private schools were surveyed. The survey found out that 1020 children are malnourished and hence were given nutritious food.<br />'' <br />'' There were 3506 children with minor deficiencies, 8027 children were suffering from diseases, 1152 children had stunted growth and 1297 children had disabilities since birth. The Chief Executive Officer of Haveri Zilla Panchayat says that this kind of survey of children is conducted for the first time in the state.<br />'' <br />'' The children surveyed were given health check up records which will help the authorities if the third Covid wave strikes.
