Karnataka Govt orders SIT probe into Bengaluru IED blast

In Karnakata, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) will probe into the yesterday's bomb explosion on Church street in Bengaluru. Announcing this today, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said the investigation team will be headed by the senior police officer, Alok Kumar.

He said the IB and the police are working in tandem. The Chief Minister said that the police is looking into all the angles of the past blast and link it to the yesterday's. He informed that that the government is considering whether entire intelligence division can be clubbed into a separate cadre. He added that cyber security will also be enhanced with suitable technical expertise.

Mr Siddaramaiah also informed that security will be further strengthened in the vulnerable areas and asked the administration to install CCTV cameras in sensitive places. The Karnataka State Government also announced compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the diseased in the Church street bomb blast.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah made this announcement today along with treatment to the injured at Government cost. A 38-year-old woman Bhavani hailing from Chennai was killed and three other persons in the blast.

After post-mortem, the body of the diseased was handed over to the family and the Government has made arrangement to send the body to Chennai.
