Karnataka Govt faces land scam charges

The BJP ruled Government in Karnataka that faces land grabbing and kick-back charges has another trouble in hand due to the dissident activities. Seven ministers and nine MLAs of BJP have raised the flag of revolt in the aftermath of cabinet reshuffle recently. The dissident legislators led by Cabinet Ministers Venkataramanappa, Anand Asnotikar, D Sudhakar, Balachandra Jarakiholi and Narendra Swamy are reportedly stationed in Chennai. Taken aback at the new swift political developments, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa held a close-door meeting with state party chief K S Eshwarappa and RSS leaders to ward off any adverse situation. There are also reports that Member of Parliament Siddeshwar, Home Minister R Ashok and Health Minister B Sreeramulu are dispatched to Chennai as Chief Minister’s emissaries to hear the grievances of the dissidents and avoid any threat to the stability of the government. An emergency Cabinet meeting is called tomorrow morning. Eshwarappa, however has denied any dissident activities or presence of any threat to the government. On the other hand, Karnataka Governor H R Bhardwaj today said he has sent a special report on land scam in the Yeddyurappa government, to President Pratibha patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He was speaking to the newspersons after participating in the Wild life Week Celebration in Bangaluru today.
