<span style="color: #222222;">The Karnataka Cabinet has decided to promulgate an ordinance that gives the Government special powers to provide protection to the frontline health workers. This decision comes after a mob turned violent in Padarayanapura yesterday when health workers were trying to shift suspected COVID-19 persons to the quarantine facility. Another decision taken by the Cabinet today is to continue with the existing lockdown norms till May 3rd. The Law minister informed that there will be no relaxation in the norms as was proposed by a meeting held last week. He however added that Chief Minister and the Task Force on COVID-19 will discuss on the possibility of any relaxation when fresh guidelines from the Central Government are issued.</span><br />
