In Karnataka, the Congress Legislature Party has elected Mr Siddaramaiah as its leader. He will be sworn in as the Chief Minister on Monday. A Raj Bhavan communique said that the Governor has invited Mr Siddaramaiah to form the new Government. After meeting the Governor H R Bharadwaj on Friday night, Mr Siddaramaiah said, he will take the oath of office alone and undertake Cabinet formation after meeting Congress President Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi next week.
