Karnataka Governor Hansraj Bhardwaj has asked Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to prove his majority on the floor of the House again on Thursday. The Governor had on Monday recommended President's rule in the state, following trust vote. The Speaker had disqualified 11 BJP MLAs and five independents just ahead of the trust vote in the Assembly which was won by Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa. Meanwhile, Mr. Yaddyurappa who has arrived in New Delhi a short while ago has joined the meeting of the top brass of the BJP which is holding discussions at Mr. L.K. Advani's residence on the political developments in the state. Mrs. Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Party President Nitin Gadkari are among the senior leaders who are attending the meeting. A number of MLAs have also come to Delhi along with him. Earlier in the day, Congress termed as farce the way the BJP government in Karnataka won the vote of confidence. Talking to newsmen in New Delhi, Party General Secretary and Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad demanded a fresh division of votes on the floor of the Assembly and revocation of disqualification of the MLAs. Mr.Azad said Congress is not behind the BJP rebels.Meanwhile, Karnataka High Court has resumed hearing on the petition challenging the disqualification of 16 MLAs by Speaker K G Bopaiah. The petition filed by the MLAs, including 11 of BJP, hassought quashing of the orders of the Speaker, terming their disqualification as a clear violation of statutory rules.The petition is being heard by a Division Bench comprising Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice N Kumar.
