Karnataka Governor accepts resignation of Lokayukta Shivraj Patil

Karnataka Governor H R Bharadwaj has accepted the resignation of Lokayukta Shivraj Patil today. The Lokayukta who was facing allegation of violating Housing Society by-laws had submitted his resignation on Monday to the Governor. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Minister D V Sadanand Gowda has told that there is no possibility of Justice Patil withdrawing his resignation and process will be started shortly to select the new Lokayukta. He also informed that a committee looking into Lokayukta report on illegal mining will submit its report in next 15 days. He also said the government will initiate action based on the report.
