Resignation of Food and Civil Supplies Minister Haratala Halappa has been accepted by the Chief Minister and Governor in Karnataka. <br/><br/>Speaking to the media persons in the morning just after the news of sex scandal broke out in a Kannada newspaper, Halappa refuted the charges and termed it as political motivated. <br/><br/>The BJP State President Eeshrappa said, Halappa resigned owing moral responsibility and a probe to find the truth will be initiated shortly. <br/><br/>The opposition leaders are however demanding arrest of Halappa and his prosecution. They are charging the government of failure to protect women in the state and demanding the resignation of all tainted ministers facing criminal charges in the state cabinet. The Congress has planned an agitation tomorrow pressing for their demand.<br/>
