Karnataka CSP gets five Interceptor boats for coastal security

The Karnataka Coastal Security Police, CSP has received five Interceptor boats as part of the centre's focus to strengthen coastal security along the country's sea shore. This includes four 12 tone and one five tone boat built by Goa Shipyard Limited. This takes up the total interceptor boat strength in the CSP at its Malpe base to ten. Speaking at the handing over ceremony, IGP Anti-Terrorist Cell Sanjay Vir Singh said that both Centre and the State governments have decided to strengthen the coastal security along the 320 Km of Karnataka coast. He further informed that a decision is taken to set up four more CSP stations in the second phase in addition to five CSP stations already functioning along the coast.
