In Karnataka, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has won a trust vote in the Assembly, his third in nine months. Congress staged a walk out when the Chief Minister moved the confidence motion. Janata Dal-Secular boycotted the session.The BJP Government in the state comfortably sailed through with 119 votes in its favour after 71 Congress members and five independents trooped out of the 224-member house.The 26-member Janata Dal-Secular party boycotted the budget session demanding Speaker K G Bopaiah’s resignation following the Supreme Court’s order rejecting his decision of disqualifying 16 MLAs under anti defection act.With the return of the 11 rebel MLAs to the party fold, the BJP has 120 members, including speaker, Congress 71, and JD-S 26.One assembly seat is vacant following the resignation of JD-S MLA Karadi Sangana.Party's chief whip in the assembly D. N. Jeevaraj told reporters later, one independent Varthur Prakash, supporting the ruling party, was not present due to personal reasons.Yeddyurappa justified suo moto trust vote motion saying that he did not want to leave any doubts in the minds of people about the majority enjoyed by his government.
