The Chief Minister of Karnataka B S Yeddyurappa has welcomed the Krishna Tribunal order saying it will help irrigate five to six lakh hectare additional cultivable land in the State.Speaking to the media persons in Bangalore on Thursday, Yeddyurappa said by allowing increase in the height of Almatti dam from 519 to 526 metres, the state is in a position to utilize 911 TMC of water under A and B scheme. This will help provide drinking water to districts in north Karnataka. He said, he will allocate more funds in the next budget to take up irrigation projects that is now made possible due to the Tribunal order.
