<span style="color: #222222;">Several rivers in Coastal Karnataka are at spate as people are shifted to safer locations and relief efforts are on to clear roads and bridges blocked by landslides. Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa sought details on the rain and flood situation in the state from the Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary today.<br />'' <br />'' Union Minister Prahlad Joshi visited the family of a girl who had slipped into a swelling river and died in Kalaghatagi taluk of Dharwad district. He handed over ex gratia payment of five lakh rupees to the family members. Chikmagalur district incharge minister C T Ravi visited Charmadi ghat today and inspected the road clearing work.<br />'' <br />'' The embankments of Cauvery, Tungabhadra, Krishna and their tributaries are receiving copious rainfall increasing the inflow in the reservoirs. Several reservoirs on these rivers are releasing water thereby swelling the flow of water downstream.<br />'' <br />'' Union Minister Prahlad Joshi has said that he will speak to the Chief Minister for releasing calamity funds to Dharwad needed to take up relief and rehabilitation efforts. Tourism minister C T Ravi has informed that funds are available to develop roads in Chikmagalur and work will start after the rains. He assured farmers that their crop loss will be compensated.<br />'' <br />'' On the other side due to release of water from various dams the glory of various falls have magnified. Jog , Bharat chukki and Gagan chukka falls especially are in full splendour. </span><br />
