Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Tuesday released a booklet in Bangalore on the progress achieved to mark third year of BJP rule here. Speaking to the media persons, Yeddyurappa said that if the Opposition had not created hurdles in his way, Karnataka would have become number one in the country. He informed that state received Best Practices Award for 2010, it received second prize in implementation of IT in administration. It received second prize in Panchayat Empowerment and Accountability Programme. The state achieved a record 130 lakh tonne foodgrain production last year. He further disclosed that the revenue received since last two months gives hope that his next budget will be of the size of one lakh crore rupees. He said his priority will be to free the state from hutments. He further said that survey is on to identify people who do not have a roof over their head, to provide them houses in the next two years. When told about reports claiming that Lokayukta report on illegal mining is leaked and that the powerful Reddy brothers who are ministers in the state are charged of illegal mining, Chief Minister said there is no truth in the news that Lokayukta report is leaked. He said that final report on illegal mining is awaited from the Lokayukta and appropriate action will be taken by him in accordance with its recommendation.
