Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa paraded MLAs supporting his government before President Pratibha Devisingh Patil at Rastrapati Bhawan in New Delhi on Tuesday evening in a show of strength and seeking rejection of the State Governor's recommendation for imposition of President's rule in the state. Yeddyurappa arrived at Rashtrapati Bhavan along with 114 MLAs and five letters of support to prove his majority. It was claimed that one MLA was in hospital. BJP stalwarts Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, M Venkaiah Nadu and scores of party supporters accompanied him.Meanwhile, the NDA has demanded recall of Karnataka Governor for his so called unconstitutional activities. However, Bhardwaj has defended his recommendation and said that the Constitutional mechanism has broken down in the state because of the collusion between the Speaker and the Chief Minister.In a two page Press Communique issued on Tuesday in Bangalore, the Raj Bhavan explained as to why the Governor recommended invoking of Article 356(1) in Karnataka. It says that the recommendation was made after examining the judgment of the Supreme Court and its implications and the various other developments in the recent months.AIR Bangalore correspondent reports that ‘Recall Governor’ agitation is intensifying in the state.
