Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa held a meeting with Maharashtra Water Resources Minister Jayant Patil in Bengaluru today to discuss ways to mitigate flood damage in the Krishna and Bheema river basins. Briefing the media persons later, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said that both the states have decided to share real time data on rainfall and release of water from the dams to prevent flooding in Karnataka.<br />''<br />''Maharashtra Water Resources minister Jayant Patil informed that there is better coordination and understanding between the irrigation departments of both the states that has helped mitigate flood in villages located on Krishna and Bheema basins in Karnataka.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Both the states have also agreed to complete Doodhsagar irrigation project in two years to improve irrigation in North Karnataka. It was also agreed to set up a technical committee to work out a viable plan for Karnataka to receive 4 TMC water from Maharashtra during Summer season and return the same quantity of water from Karnataka to Maharashtra during the monsoon season.</span><br />
