Karnataka CM drops four dissident ministers from Cabinet

In the aftermath of dissident activities in Karnataka, the Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has dropped four ministers from the cabinet. Meanwhile, the State Governor H.R. Bhardwaj has asked the Chief Minister to prove majority by 12th of this month. Among the ministers dropped, three are Independent MLAs who had initially supported the Government. Announcing this in a press conference in Bangalore, the Chief Minister said, efforts are on to end dissidence and ask those stationed in Chennai to come and discuss their problems. In the meantime BJP MLA Shankarlingegowda, Anand Asnotikar and Independent MLA and Minister Narendraswamy had met the Governor and submitted their letter of withdrawal of support to the BJP Government in the State. The Chief Minister has blamed JDS leader Deve Gowda and his son Kumaraswamy for destabilising his Government and trying to grab power from the backdoor.
