In<b> </b>Karnataka, Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa distributed solar powered fruits and vegetable push carts developed by the Indian Institute of Horticulture Research in Bengaluru today. The tricycle push cart is designed and developed under Atmanirbhar Bharat programme. The solar powered push cart can cover 50 kilometres distance when fully charged.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">It has a temperature and humidity management system through evaporative cooling in an enclosed chamber that can store 200 kilograms of fruits and vegetables. This helps keep the produce fresh for a longer duration. It has LED lights, digital weighing machine, public address system and electrical charging facility. The cost of the push cart is around 1.50 lakh rupees. The State Government procured them and distributed them to people from the Scheduled Castes community as a source to earn income from selling the produce.</span><br />
