<span style="color: #222222;">Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has directed the district Deputy Commissioners to take a decision on the closure of schools in all the districts based on the Covid Positivity rate. In his statement to media issued after a virtual meeting with the Health Minister and other officials, the Chief Minister has stated that the epidemic is found to cause infections among children and the district administration should initiate steps to address the issue.<br />''<br />''The hospitals will have pediatric wards and ICUs for children. They must stock sufficient medicines for treatment of infected children. The Education department will join hands with the health department to conduct a general health check-up of children in schools every 15 days. Since many of the infected persons are in home isolation during the third wave, they need to be supplied with medicine kits and monitored regularly by the Public Health Centers. The Revenue and Muzrai departments were asked to issue guidelines for the upcoming festivals. In Bengaluru which is the epicenter of Covid cases with 10 percent positivity rate will soon have services of 27 Covid Care Centers. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike has been asked to increase Covid tests to 1.3 lakh per day. The Chief Minister has directed the district administration to implement Covid protocol with alacrity.</span><br />
