Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has announced a release of Rs.500 crore immediately to take up repair and restoration of roads, bridges, power lines and other infrastructure works in the rain-affected districts. <br />''<br />''He was speaking to media in Udupi today after chairing a meeting to review rescue and relief works in flood-affected districts of Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada. Mr. Bommai said that the situation would be reviewed again in August and necessary funds would be released for restoration.  <br />''<br />''He informed that so far 32 people have lost their life, 5 people gone missing, 34 were injured in the rain-related incidents.  Agricultural crops in 216 hectares in Dakshina Kannada district and 129 hectares in Udupi district have been destroyed. <br />''<br />''The Chief Minister said that 58 houses were totally damaged, 26 houses were heavily damaged and 1062 houses were partially damaged.  He said about 2187kms of roads including PWD and Rural roads have been damaged in the rain-affected districts so far. <br />
