Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai today, held discussions with the Deputy Commissioners of rain-affected districts. Speaking to the media in Bengaluru he said that rescue works are on and he have directed officials to take up relief work immediately. He further said that because of heavy and incessant rain houses and properties are damaged in coastal and Kodagu districts.  He said NDRF and SDRF teams should be deployed immediately to take relief measures. Meanwhile, a red alert has been declared in  Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada and Udupi districts.  In Kodagu district, Orange alert have been declared and the district administration announced a holiday for colleges, schools and anganwadis tomorrow. In Chikmagaluru district orange alerts have been declared for tomorrow.
