Karnataka Chief Electoral Office cracks down on voter inducement, asks hotels to stop discounts

<span style="color: #222222;">The Karnataka Chief Electoral Office has issued a directive to the hotels and other establishments to stop announcing discounts for voters who had cast their vote on Wednesday. <br />''<br />''A release issued by them says that such announcements tantamount to inducement of voters and is the violation of Model Code of Conduct. It says that such announcements are displayed in front of a few hotels and amusement parks in Bengaluru and other cities that those showing indelible ink on the finger will get discounts. These establishments have been advised to dissuade from making such announcements till the Model Code of Conduct is in force up to the end of counting on May 13th. The Hotel and other establishment owners will be held responsible for such an announcement.</span><br />
