<span style="color: #222222;">Karnataka has become the first state in the country to vaccinate more than two lakh healthcare workers with COVID-19 vaccine. In a tweet, the Karnataka Health Department has said that 2,06,577 health care workers are vaccinated till date. The state had crossed the one lakh vaccination mark on 19th of January after the vaccination drive began on 16th of this month. According to the data released for the day, 14,178 beneficiaries out of 84,833 targeted were inoculated today. <br />''<br />''Minister for Health and Medical Education Dr. K. Sudhakar informed media persons in Bengaluru today that the vaccine is completely safe and that no side effects are reported after vaccination. He informed that the Chief Minister and other Cabinet Ministers will be inoculated in the Second Phase of the vaccination drive. He further said that the Prime Minister has been requested to allow the state to vaccinate 500 eminent personalities to boost the morale of the public. Karnataka has received the second consignment of 1,46,240 doses of Covaxin in addition to 7,94,500 doses of Covishield and 20,000 doses of Covaxin received earlier.</span><br />
