Karnataka Bandh passed off peacefully without any untoward incident. The Bandh called by Pro-Kannada organisations in protest against release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu paralysed normal life in Bangalore, Mysore, Mandya, Hassan and Chamrajnagar districts. Roads wore a deserted look as heavy police presence kept vigil at key locations and shops and business establishments remained closed.

The Cauvery Monitoring Committee, which toured Mysore and Hassan districts returned to Bangalore today.
In Tamil Nadu, the central team lead by central water commission Chief Engineer R.K.Gupta today interacted with the farmers of Tiruvarur district in Tamil Nadu. The team heard the grievances of Delta farmers regarding water supply for samba cultivation.
AIR Tiruchirapalli Correspondent Devi Padmanabhan reports that the delta farmers who have already lost the Kuruvai crops explained to the central team with tears about the need for continuous supply of water to save their samba crops. The team inspected the samba cultivation in Tiruvarur district and interacted with farmers of Mannargudi, Tiruttaraipoondi, Karuppukizha, Karuvakulam.
