Karnataka Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah has convened a session of the House on Thursday at 11 AM to facilitate Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa seeking a trust vote afresh. The Speaker issued the notice today with Chief Minster Yeddyurappa accepting the Governor's offer to prove majority of his government afresh.Governor H R Bhardwaj has earlier termed as a 'farce' the result obtained from Monday's session in which Yeddyurappa claimed to have won the motion of confidence by voice vote. The Governor said it was not in accordance with law.The second floor test has sparked hectic activities among opposition parties which are holding parleys to chalk out their strategies. Minutes after Yeddyurappa communicated to the Governor that he will seek the trust vote on Thursday Congress convened its legislature party meeting and discussed the emerging political developments. Pradesh Congress President R V Deshpande said they were meeting to discuss the political situation and the future plans to face the trust vote. Law Minister Veerappa Moily described the BJP's allegations as highly politically motivated and a desperate attempt on the part of the party to cover its own abyss. Reacting to Mr. Jaitley's accusations, Moily said that there is a crisis of character within the BJP. Former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, who has become a focal point for BJP rebels and is gunning for the ouster of the BJP government, met his father and JD(S) supreme H D Devegowda and discussed the development. Kumaraswamy also held discussions with his party MLAs at a private resort.In another development, former minister Shivaraj Tangadagi, one of independents disqualified by the Speaker, claimed that at least 11 to 12 more BJP MLAs will shift loyalty to the rebel camp.Meanwhile, a division Bench of Karnataka High Court has reserved the verdict on a case about 11 rebel BJP MLAs disqualified by the Assembly Speaker. However, the bench comprising of Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice N Kumar has allowed Advocate representing 5 Independent MLAs to revise the petition and submit it on Monday as Former solicitor general Soli Sorabjee, appearing for the BJP government pointed out that the petition submitted by Independent MLAs comprises the line that they were part of BJP Government in the petition. When the Advocate appearing for the Independent MLAs admitted that the line has appeared by mistake, the bench allowed him to submit the revised petition on Monday. Chief minister of Himachal Pradesh Prem Kumar Dhumal described the conduct of the Governor as constitutional and against the federal system. He criticized the Karnataka Governor Hans Raj Bhardwaj conduct for recommending presidents rule in the state. He also sought intervention of president of India and demanded to recall the governor.
