Karnataka Assembly Speaker Jagadish Shettar has resigned from the post today. Mr Shettar, accompanied by Tourism Minister Janardhana Reddy and others went to the office of the Deputy Speaker K G Bopanna and submitted his resignation letter. Deputy Speaker has accepted the resignation letter. This has paved the way for Shetter to join the cabinet.<br/>Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today said problems arising out of dissident activities that recently gripped his government are over and the focus now is on relief works in flood-hit areas.<br/>Talking to reporters in Shimoga that Mr.Jagadish Shettar, who quit as Assembly Speaker today, would be inducted into the cabinet tomorrow. He said BJP's legislative wing would meet in Bangalore on Wednesday in which senior central leaders would take part. A 10-day legislative session has been convened from the 14th of next month.<br/>
