Karnataka Assembly session begins today

A ten day Session of Karnataka Legislative Assembly and Council will begin in Bangalore today with a Joint address by Governor H R Bharadwaj. AIR Correspondent says that the Joint address derives significance in the event of Lokayuktha appointment becoming an issue of contention between the Government and the Governor. In another development former Chief Minister Yeddyurappa attended the Lokayuktha special court today regarding land denotification case. He appeared in a hearing of two out of five complaints of land denotification against him and his family members. The court has adjourned the case to February 18 for further hearing. In another complaint of receiving graft in return for tender in the upper Bhardra river project against Yeddyurappa, the Lokayuktha police is likely to file B report in the court today. B report signifies that the investigating agency has not found any concrete proof to substantiate the charges.
