In Karnataka, the Legislative Assembly passed State Appropriation Bill worth over 87 thousand, seven hundred thirty seven crores for the year 2011-12. The Chief Minister who is Finance Minister also tabled the bill in the Assembly. In the absence of the Opposition members, the House passed the bill without any discussion. The Opposition has boycotted the Session in both the Houses of legislature seeking resignation of the Speaker and the Chief Minister in the background of Supreme Court passing verdict against Speaker’s decision to disqualify 16 MLAs under anti defection law. The Assembly also passed five bills before adjourning for the day.
