Karnataka: 5,851 new COVID-19 cases reported; state recovery rate improves to 69.67 pct

<span style="color: #222222;">In Karnataka, 5,851 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in the state during the last 24 hours which takes the tally to 2,83,665. A record 8,061 patients recovered and were discharged from various hospitals in the state.  <br />''<br />''The total number of recovered patients have gone up to 1,97,625.  The highest number of 130 COVID patients lost their lives and the total fatality rate has gone up to 4,810.<br />''<br />''Karnataka had conducted 39,817 COVID tests yesterday and thereby taking the tally to 24,53,768. The total number of active cases have gone up to 81,211 in the state. The state recovery rate has improved to 69.67 per cent and the mortality rate stands at 1.70 per cent. Meanwhile, the Karnataka Government relaxed the 14-day home quarantine rules to the inter-state travelers coming to Karnataka, which was earlier mandatory in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.<br />''<br />''According to the new guidelines issued yesterday there will no longer be medical check-up at the state borders, bus stations, railway stations and airports.
