Two days after foreign exchange worth over 6 crore rupees was seized from Tibetan spiritual leader — Karmapa Ugyen Trinley Dorjee monastery in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, the leader has reportedly agreed to cooperate with the Enforcement Directorate probe to be held later on Saturday. The leader has been put under virtual house arrest and according to sources all communication lines have been disconnected. He is likely to be interrogated today after the Home Ministry gave permission in this regard. Meanwhile, Karma Chungliapa, Deputy General Secretary of Karmapa Monastery said, legal experts are being consulted and a statement will be issued later in the day. After foreign currency was recovered from Tibetan spiritual leader Karmapa Lama's monastery, the leader has denied any Chinese links. Karmapa's close aide Shakti Lama was also arrested following the raids and was interrogated by the police on Friday. Police suspects a hawala racket operating in the state. However, Tibetan parliamentarians are rallying strongly behind the Spiritual leader claiming that ignorance about the forex law has led to this situation.
