CPIM General Secretary Mr Prakash Karat has called for setting up of an independent regulatory authority for the visual media of the country. <br/><br/>Inaugurating the high tech studio of a prominent TV channel of Kerala at Thiruvanathapuram he said that the debate on the necessity for having regulation or self regulation for TV channels of India needs to be carried forward.<br/><br/>Mr Karat further said that even if some section of the visual media is talking about self regulation he stands for an independent regulator authority for the electronic media of the country. Defence Minister, Mr A K Antony who also attended the function inaugurated the new headquarter building of the TV Channel.
