The CPI – M leader Prakash Karat has criticized both Tamil Nadu government and the centre for failure to control corruption and price rise at both levels. Addressing a public meeting in Kanyakumari today Mr Karat said that corruption and unprecedented price rise are major issues but DMK and Congress are both helping each other for their vested interest than to address these severe issues. The left leader appealed to people to vote for AIADMK and CPM candidates who were contesting from Kanyakumari. He said that Tamil Nadu election is not important only for the state but important for entire country also. Referring to 2-G spectrum scam issue Mr Karat alleged that both DMK and UPA Government were aware of this scam but they were hiding truths from people. CPM has fielded her sitting MLA Leema Roise from Vilavancodu constituency in Kanyakumari while AIADMK is contesting from four seats and another alliance partner DMDK for one constituency in this district.
