The issue of defection of Janta Dal(Secular) MLA Karadi Sanganna to BJP rocked the Karnataka Legislative Assembly today. The floor leader from JD(S) Revanna moved the adjournment motion in Assembly today and said that the MLAs from his party are lured with the promises including ministerial berth, board Chairman post , hefty kickback and assurance to develop their constituency. After the submission by Revanna, the Law and Parliamentary Affairs minister Suresh Kumar pointed out that the matter cannot be taken as adjournment motion as it does not specify about any particular incident. The leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah also criticized thegovernment for maligning public life by using unconstitutional means to lure the legislatures. Unhappy over the Speaker’s ruling, the Congress staged a walkout and JD(S) MLAs descended into the well of the House in protest. At this point the Speaker adjourned the house for some time.
