Karachi suicide attack toll rises to forty

In Pakistan, the toll in suicide attack on Muharram procession in Karachi has risen to 40. Officials said over 100 injured in the incident were being treated in hospitals. Pakistani authorities are still struggling to control a major blaze in a market caused by rioting that followed the terror assault. Traders' Associations estimated that the blaze had caused losses running into crores of rupees<br/><br/>The bomber mingled with hundreds of people participating in a procession for the Islamic holy month of Muharram and detonated his explosives on M A Jinnah Road in the heart of Karachi on Monday. The attack sparked widespread rioting and violence across the city.<br/> <br/>
